Identifying HOMONYMS in the Listening Section.



1. presence: the fact that someone or something is in a place

presents: something that you are given, without asking for it, on a special occasion, especially to show friendship, say thank you



2. overdue: not done or happening when expected or when needed; late

overdo: to do something in a way that is too extreme



3. pain- It's a sense that happens when something hurts us like a knock.

pane- there are some objects made of this material. It is transparent and fragile.



4. where- interrogative adverb that express a question about the place that you are or somebody else

wear- action of move something of place



5. Fined: You use fine to describe something that you admire and think is very good. / That you are in good health or reasonably happy.

Find: someone or something, you see them or learn where they are. / If you find something that you need or want, you succeed in achieving or obtaining it.


6. right: that it is correct and agrees with the facts / direction / Your rights are what you are morally or legally entitled to do or to have.

write: you use something such as a pen or pencil to produce words, letters, or numbers on the surface.




7. board: Board is used as a noun in English language where it means a long, thin, flat piece of wood or other hard material, used for floors or other building purposes

bored: Bored is used as an adjective in English language where it means feeling weary and impatient because one is unoccupied or lacks interest in one's current activity.



8. brakes: Brake is frequently used in the sense of slowing or stopping movement. As a noun it has such meanings as “a device for arresting or preventing the motion of a mechanism usually by means of friction” or “something used to slow down or stop movement or activity.”

breaks: Break is a considerably more complex word, in terms of its possible range of meanings. The word has dozens of definitions in its uses as a noun and verb, ranging from “the opening shot in a game of pool or billiards” to “(of cream) to separate during churning into liquid and fat.” Among the more common noun senses are “a respite from work, school, or duty,” “a gap or opening caused or appearing as if caused by damage,” and “emergence from darkness.”
